Product Overview

Handmade Pendant Sterling Silver set with a 24.80 carat natural Bisbee Turquoise stone is surrounded by oval Spiny Oyster stones
Made by Native American Navajo Artist Russell Sam

This Turquoise is Natural and comes from the famous Bisbee mine in Arizona.

The "Lavender Pit" mine is known worldwide for its size and the host rock does have a natural Red/Brown or some say lavender color; most Bisbee turquoise formed in and near this same host limestone material
The lavender name is so appropriate but is actually referencing a Phelps Dodge executive from when the mine was fully operational.
(the mine closed in the 1970's)

This Bisbee Turquoise gem weighs approximately 24.80 carats

This gemstone is NOT stabilized or treated, only mined, carved and polished

Natural Bisbee turquoise gemstones such as this piece are extremely rare and collectable
This gem exhibits classic Bisbee characteristics: blue transitioning into Red/brown, lavender limestone dark Smokey Bisbee and transitioning to gorgeous sky blue bisbee.

The setting is handmade with spiny oyster clustered around the free form Bisbee Turquoise  The large bail at the top allows for a variety of chain sizes

The Pendant measures approx. 56 MM long (just under 2 1/4 inches) not including the bail and approx. 41 MM wide.
This total weight Approx. over 36 grams.
Stamped with Russell's Hallmark: "Russell Sam Sterling"
Russell uses traditional techniques, forming methods and individually sizes his rings. His jewelry is hand crafted and will show evidence of tool marks, scratches, pits and other small flaws in the silver work
